Oil marketing companies usually revise the price of LPG
cylinders depending on the International benchmark rate of LPG and the US dollar and rupee exchange rate.

In Delhi and Mumbai the price of LPG per 14.2 kg cylinder increased to Rs 719. In Kolkata, Rs 745.50 and in Chennai cost Rs 735. Following which the Centre transfers a subsidy to eligible consumers into the bank account.

The subsidy quota is 12 cylinders of 14.2 kg per year. Above needs to be purchased at non-subsidised rates.
